Overview

Philosopher Friedrich Nietzche once said, “An artist has no home in Europe except in Paris.” And that home has always been Montmartre. Step into vintage Paris that boasts of art, music and eateries that will remind you of the Paris of the 1920s. Unlike the rest of the city, Montmartre has retained its old-world charm. Join this fascinating guided tour of Montmartre and gain insights about the area’s history and culture.

You will meet your guide at the iconic Moulin Rouge, the home of the sensuous Can-Can cabaret and inspiration to so many pictures of Paris nightlife. From here, you will ascend through the winding streets to Café des 2 Moulins that featured in the popular French comedy, Amelie. Montmartre lends its bohemian character from the artists who lived here and you will walk the streets where Van Gogh, Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec, Pissarro and many others worked.

Continue to see some forgotten sites in Paris – the windmills, vineyards and cabarets, hidden in the winding alleys of Montmartre. Then from the bustling town square of Place du Tertre, your tour will conclude when you climb the steps to the famous Basilica Sacre-Coeur, the highest natural point in Paris that offers amazing views of the city like nowhere else.
